The CHANTICA programme is for young people from Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, England and Scotland, so that they can explore their own and each others cultures and traditions. Working together with artists and craftsmen, using traditional skills and techniques to inspire them, they have the opportunity through drama, music, fashion and applied art to produce contemporary art relevant to them today. Sharing this common bond also helps to develop lasting friendships and creates a greater understanding and appreciation that we are all a part of the European Union and share similar interests.

“Taking part in Chantica was a fun and creative experience. I embarked on the trip due to my love for Arts and Crafts, but from it I gained much more than just exercising these two passions. I met people from a range of countries and backgrounds who shared their love of music, theatre and the contemporary arts. The setting of our week in Scotland was Auchindrain, a beautiful Open Air Museum in the Scottish Highlands. Being able to work and learn at the museum not only transported us back in time, but has also benefited my recent University studies by seeing vernacular Architecture first hand and experiencing the way they lived. I would recommend this trip to anyone, even if you only have an interest in one area, you will come away with much more.”
