Germany today is one of the leading industrial nations in the renewable energy

sector, having introduced the legislative drivers well ahead of most other countries.

In 2007, renewable sources supplied 14% of electricity and 6.6% of heat energy in

Germany. The expansion in renewable energy began in 1991, with the introduction

of the Electricity Feed Act (Stromeinspeisungsgesetz, StrEG), making it an obligation

for grid operators to purchase electricity from renewable sources. Further impetus

The the exchange will cover the same itinerary as last year, making changes according to the specific needs of the participants. We will post an outline itinerary soon. Meanwhile please look at last year’s very comprehensive report. It is worthwhile looking at DVL’s web pages at http://www.landschaftspflegeenergie.lpv.de/ They have a really good web site, but difficult to find information in English.
